"Pros: The position of this hotel is wonderful. The views from the restaurant over the 2 rivers is exceptional. We were there when the rain was pouring and the rivers were filling rapidly, so it was amazing to watch out of the windows. The staff were friendly and the service was good. There are a lot of steps to the rooms, although we had a room where the lift took you to the first floor and then there were just 2 steps, but we were told that all other rooms had a lot of stairs. Cons: The furnishings of the room were pleasant, however the soft furnishings were not good. The sheet didn't fit the bed properly and the quilts were so heavy, they reminded me of a brick. I think some investment in nice soft, light quilts, sheets that fit the beds properly and good quality pillows (my pillowcase had a hole in it) would do a lot to raise the standards of the hotel. The restaurant has quite a small selection. On the first night i had schnitzel with French fries and they tasted like they had been cooked in old oil that wasn't hot enough. I hadn't wanted to eat there the next night but due to the heavy rain, there wasn't much choice. However, this night I chose one of their special dishes and the difference was remarkable.
