"Pros: The property is beautiful. The pool area was clean. The Villa was clean. Secret beach was close and easy to get to. The drive to town on the golf carts realy didn't seem bad at all. Safe. Cons: The tile in the showers was extremely slipery! Two family members were injured on the slick tile. There is no food and drinks on site (except bottled water was provided) and the grocery store and resturants recommend by the host were very expensive compared to others. The golf carts reccomend were expensive compared to several in town .The owner for the carts was very helpful and easy to get ahold of for fuel and when we had pass issues at the bridge. The jacuzzi tub we were expexting to use on the top deck off the master room was full of black mold! We took pictures and messaged the host and never heard a word about it. A security guard stopped by and looked at it later but there was no compensation. The Amethyst Villa is right on the road and very load trucks come by at 4:45 in the morning waking everyone up. The extra boat ride from the water taxi to the Villas was expensive and we would have just rented golf carts and started our week of paying for them instead of paying another $100 for a boat ride.( Maybe give your guest an option some may want to pay some may want to save the money for spending on fun activities or food) We have been to Belize several times and this time we spent twice as much as usually on things like the boat ride and fees we should not have had to pay. We were definatly being charged more than previous years on the island and it was dishearting to see. One example a man tried to charge $80 USD for two drinks. That is outragous. We love San Pedro and would like to come back but this was an outragous amount of spending unlike any other year." ~Bakich
