"Pros: We liked the location: right on the lake and close to all the waterfall parks and attractions. The property is only five years old and well-maintained, and it is a plus to have a complete restaurant available. The moqueca was excellent! The outdoor pool with the kids section was very nice. The rooms are very large with plenty of room luggage.
Cons: Breakfast did not open until 8am and there was no coffee available before breakfast began. The restaurant staff was not very friendly and rarely made their way around the pool. We visited the sister property (Rio Turvo) and the staff there was very friendly and personable which would have been nice at Riviera. Rio Turvo also has more outdoor spaces and some with hammocks which are missing from Riviera. We stayed for 6 nights and we ran out of dinner options to choose from. Would have been nice to have more local foods rather than french fries with everything. The indoor pool and sauna are in a weird location and close early at 8pm. Would be great to be open later to enjoy the pool or sauna after dinner."

"Pros: This is one of the most beautiful locations we’ve stayed anywhere in the world! Add to that fabulous hospitality, plentiful and fresh breakfast each morning, roof top bar with 270 degree panorama of the Rio Grande to watch the sun set - you have the recipe for a perfect holiday. Oh, not to mention the amazing site seeing and waterfalls minutes away.
My husband and I had travelled 15,000 over 4 months in Brazil when we arrived here. We booked for 3 days, but stayed 5. It is the most picturesque and tranquil stay we had had to date. It was some much needed respite - an unexpected pleasure.
Lake Furnas has moved from our bucket list to a “must return Brisa do Lago Pousada”
