"Pros: I booked my stay at Pousada Lumar without realizing it was the São João weekend, and what a surprise it turned out to be! I initially planned to stay for just one night, but ended up extending my trip to a full week (if I could, I'd still be there). Caraíva is an incredible place, and staying at Pousada Lumar with Ana and her amazing staff made the experience unforgettable.
The pousada is cozy, peaceful, and perfect for working while traveling. I was able to work remotely in a quiet environment, and Ana and her amazing staff went above and beyond to accommodate every request I had.
Another highlight was Padoca, the bakery just in front. Great breakfasts and lunches there at very reasonable prices. It became my go-to spot for working in the afternoons, having a cold beer and enjoying their sandwiches.
I highly recommend this place.
Cons: It's important to note that Caraíva is a rustic and small village, so if you're expecting big-city amenities, you may need to adjust your expectations. That charm is part of the appeal, but it also means that some conveniences are more basic.
The one thing that could be improved, and this applies to all of Caraíva, not just Pousada Lumar, is the internet speed. It’s not the best, which can be a challenge if you need to work remotely.
Additionally, the electric shower at the pousada could have some improvement. I experienced a few small electric shocks when turning on the water and adjusting the valve. I think this is something that could be fixed to ensure a better experience for future guests (including myself).
Overall, while these were minor issues, they didn't take away from the charm and comfort of my stay." ~Daniel
