"Pros: After booking with the non refundable rate I was surprised to get an email from the property owner requesting a $400 damage deposit via e-transfer. There had been no mention of that at all on the booking.com site. Although I understand why, in todays day and age that would be requested I think that should be mentioned up front. What I liked was that in correspondence with the property owner he was quick to reply and understood my surprise but said he wasn’t able to control what booking.com writes. He was then willing to work with me. The apartment itself was very quiet, but there were more marks and scuffs on the walls than expected. That said, I gave it a 10 out of 10 because of the owner himself." ~Lori
