"Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff. The lovely staff was really the best part of the experience. Amazing view from the pool area, with the sea and everything in the background. We had a room with sea view, which was also great. There were no mosquitoes at all in February 2025 (probably because of the wind). Food in the restaurant was quite good, we had a few meals there. Cons: You had to walk quite far to come to a nice and swimming-friendly beach, because the closest one is the “shell-cemetery beach”. The best beaches are west from Pontão de Santa Maria. The hotel is located at the far end of the town. The area around the hotel looks like it’s being built right now, but there are not many shops or restaurants close by the hotel. It’s not a problem though if you’re open to a 10 min walk. It was very windy at the resort, so windy it was hard to read a book or wear a hat without it flying away. The hotel was fully booked when we were there and all the spots around the pool were usually taken around 9-10 am." ~Maja
