All citizens of Chile, regardless of the duration of their stay, and all foreigners who stay in the country for at least 60 consecutive days may have to pay the national sales tax (19%) when checking out. To obtain a tax exemption, foreign citizens must, upon entry, pay for their stay in foreign currency (not in Chilean pesos) and present a valid passport along with the migration card they received upon entering the country. If a person subject to paying the tax and another exempt from the same share a room, the rate may be applied to the entire room.
Please note that the rooms with sea views are located on the fourth floor and are only accessible via stairs. No lift for this rooms. Please note that for tax exemption travellers must pay in US dollars and have to present the migration card they are given when they arrive to the country. LOCAL TAX LAW. Based on local tax laws, all Chilean citizens and resident foreigners must pay an additional fee (IVA) of 19% To be exempt from this 19% additional fee (IVA) the payment must be made in US dollars and a copy of the immigration card and passport must be presented. The passenger won't be exempt from this fee when paying in local currency. In case of no show the invoice will be billed in local currency, including this additional fee (IVA). This additional fee (IVA) is not included in the hotel rates and must be paid seperately.
