"Pros: Wonderfully embedded in the nature…
Great experience and, Most important: don’t worry about the mosquitos - no Problem!
Sève had a great stay!" ~Marc
"Pros: We were concerned when we booked this as it is off grid, and we were unsure how we would cope staying there for 4 nights in the middle of nowhere. It was absolutely fine though and we would strongly recommend the place. When you arrive, you leave your car at the Rangers office and walk 10 mins to the accommodation. Val and Ron, who run the place, were so helpful with guiding us there and helping to carry bags. They were so friendly and interesting to talk to about their life there. The house is lovely, being very well equipped, clean, and comfortable. It is very private, not being overlooked and surrounded by a large garden. The place is off grid, but there is solar powered USB point for phones, and WiFi is accessible at the Rangers office. Ice was delivered every morning to use in the Pelican cooler, which worked so well to keep everything cool. You need to take all the food with you as there are no restaurants in the local area. The pool is big and lovely to cool down in. The wildlife is amazing, just be prepared to share the accommodation with some of it, there is a small colony of bats in one of the bedrooms, which are harmless and don't bother you and are fascinating to watch. The bird dawn chorus is one we will never forget, so many sounds, along with the magical fire flies at night. Can't list everything we saw, but highlights including the swallow tailed kites, white hawk following the squirrel monkeys along the river. We sat by the river for 3 hours early one morning and let the wildlife come to us. We saw so much! It is a wonderful place and an experience we will never forget and are so glad we did. If you like wildlife, this is the place for you.
Cons: This is not a negative, just informing that getting there off the main road took about 30 minutes slow drive on a bumpy flat gravel road. We didn't have a 4x4 which made it a slow journey. Signs to the place could be made more obvious, as locals spoke no English to help. The Bolita trials are quite challenging to walk, being quite steep in places that are difficult going in humid conditions. It's not a problem if you are fit." ~Wendy
"Pros: Beautiful, lush property with many fruit trees, birds, howler monkeys (close enough to hear), interesting nighttime sounds and more. Real jungle immersion with a touch of luxury. Gwendal and Negar are warm, caring, attentive hosts with three friendly dogs. The rooms & property are impeccably maintained with beautiful woodwork and tile. It is a very safe space with a wonderful river to wade in and nearby local restaurants, birdwatching and the Corcovado National Park. The volunteers and other guests were also very friendly." ~Lori
