"Pros: The location is good, right next to the supermarket. It's an easy walk down to town. The apartment is very clean, modern and new. The a/c works well and the washing machine is a bonus. Cons: Communication from the host was terrible. We arrived at night (7.30pm) and had no idea we'd booked through a private host, it wasn't clear from the listing when we booked. The key wasn't at reception, and when we called the phone number, the host didn't speak English. We had a Croatian friend call and try and sort things out for us. It took around 30mins to resolve but I have no idea how we would have done this without speaking Croatian. It was very stressful with 2 kids wondering if we would have to find somewhere else to sleep that night. I never received any pre-arrival communication regarding how to access the apartment. Once you know how, it's easy, so why they can't communicate in advance with their renters is beyond me! We also only had 1 bath towel for 4 people, but the host did provide extra towels the next day when asked. For almost US$200 a night I shouldn't have to ask though. More important than the towels, the internet didn't work for our entire stay. I did ask the host, and they said they'd look into it, but it was never fixed. For this price per night, I expect internet to work properly. This was very disappointing & impacted my husband's ability to work from the apartment." ~Rachael

"Pros: A lovely, clean, and well-equipped apartment in an excellent location, just a 5-minute walk from the promenade. The owner was very friendly and even left some treats for the children in the room. We had access to a washing machine, complete with washing liquid provided. Overall, a fantastic experience.
