"Pros: Three French men travelling around Egypt stopped at Baba Dool place for a one night stay.
Rawia welcomed us with a lot of hospitality and we enjoyed her dinner meal!
The accomadation is clean, air conditioned and benefits from a wonderful view on the west Nile river side.
We all three recommend this place !
One advice : when you arrive in Aswan, make sure to take the local ferry at good price (close to the KFC restaurant). A little walk will lead you to Baba Dool place and make you discover the Elephantine island atmosphere." ~Pierre
"Pros: Located inside elephantine village... which means lugging luggage thru sand and alleys to get to yur room.
Its an island...yes...da ferry is a large motor boat w like 10 pple...for .10 cents. Lol
Yu are on da nile on both sides...yu do havevtrek to other side of island on foot to get to yur place...wear comfortable shoes...
I trained da kids not to beg... give me directions...carry my bags... ill take care of yu..
Sunset... sunrise out yur window overlooking da nile.. a hole in da wall w basic appeal.
Cons: Shower... no pressure or hot water to speak of... and yu literally taking shower over da toilet. Take shower shoes. Bathroom has no mirrors...in fact ...no mirrors at all...use yur imagination. Manager will come over to charge yu for soda yu may drink...while yu there.
Da beds and pillow were from monestery discipline facility....lol
No tv really...not that i need it. In all..good for solo traveler...yur gfriend will slap yur face...plan smartly !!!" ~Mario
