"Pros: Location in Vestmanna was right next to the bus stop. Good service to Thorshavn & Vagar Airport, but most travellers hire a car. Shop & bar not so near, but nowhere is far in Vestmanna (15-20 mins on foot). The hostel is self-catering but the host, Kristjan is very generous, for example offering his mother's delicious homemade rhubarb jam! There is quite a lot of shared food left by other visitors, so if anti-food waste is your ethos, you'll make a saving. Cons: Really nothing. The host is modernising the place, which has a very cosy, homely feel, but any problems which may occur anywhere (eg. a blocked drain!) are immediately sorted out - even at midnight!" ~Janet
