"Pros: We spent one night in late March at Arctic Skylodge and it was magical. The cabin was warm, the bed was incredibly comfortable and we saw a little bit of aurora activity! So nice that you don’t have to go outside to see them. You can see the entire sky from the glass cabin. Breakfast was delicious and they also have gluten free options. We unfortunately didn’t get to have dinner here as the chef was unwell. But we did get a good tip from the receptionist to eat at Los Lompolo’s - a mix of Finnish and Mexican cuisine. It was delicious (get the churros!). Cons: We were travelling with our EV and it would have been good if Arctic Skylodge had a car charger as there are only three fast chargers in Äkäslompolo and they were all taken when we went to charge. Tip: if you have a lot of stuff, it’s best to drive down to your cabin and unload rather than trying to take everything down the hill in the snow to your cabin. We were the second last cabin so it was quite far from reception." ~Fiona

"Pros: The location of the house in the middle of the forest is very good - the northern lights are visible right at the exit of the house and there is no light pollution. The apartment is beautiful and comfortable, very warm. The kitchen has a lot of essentials, and I was pleased to see salt, spices, oil and tea: little things that are often forgotten but essential.
