"Pros: Lovely, warm, comfortable apartment. Perfect for coming in from the snow & getting cosy! 15 mins from airport, 15 mins from Santa Claus Village. Taxis easy to book. Supermarket 2 minutes away!
Cons: Nothing" ~Nina
"Pros: We had a wonderful 5 night stay. Beautiful building with an amazing garden, absolutely perfect for the children to play in and enjoy the snow in safety.
We really appreciated all the extras included like sledges, snow toys and, whilst we didn’t use them, the cross country skis, ice fishing equipment and bikes.
There was a pretty lit Christmas tree in the lounge on our arrival, which was a lovely surprise, and fantastic fire / stove as well.
Communication with the owner was faultless with prompt replies both prior to and during our stay.
Detailed instructions were appreciated although perhaps these could be checked for translation to provide more clarity.
We really enjoyed having access to the sauna and this was easy to use.
The home was cosy when we worked out the heating controls! We all found our beds very comfortable.
We used taxis to get around but there is a driveway if you have a car. (Menevä were excellent and taxi to SCV was around €53).
We would absolutely recommend this property, very well equipped, comfortable, excellent value and worked well for our family stay.
Cons: - property decor, fixtures and fittings are ‘tired’, whilst functional, the fittings were not modern
- the kitchen is well equipped, but could do with updated glassware, chopping boards and additional cutlery to replace damaged, chipped items. Extra set of glasses would make a big difference.
- would have been appreciated if the underfloor heating in the porch had worked as due to the extreme external temperatures, there was ice on the inside of the windows in the porch. No big deal though!
- sadly due to weather conditions out of owners control, the igloo was found collapsed on our arrival and owners were not able to repair it during our stay due to extreme low temperatures." ~Emsley
"Pros: The house is spacious, it has 3 bedrooms and a living room. It has also a big courtyard, and also the location is very good.
The house was clean, and they were all the needed things in the kitchen and at the bathroom: basic food (like salt, sugar, coffee, tea, cereals, and so on), and also toilet paper, soap, detergent for washing the clothes and also for the dishwasher. Also they were a lot of board games, and we liked them very much! We played some board games during the evenings. So we had the wonderful feeling that we are at our home. :-)
Cons: The house is a bit outdated:
- the terrace should be renovated, also the wooden chairs that are there on the terrace,
- also the washing machine seemed to be very old, we hardly managed to put it into operation;
- the tiles in the bathroom also seemed to be outdated;
- the blinds in the bedroom can only be lifted if they are twisted by hand;
- the hair dryer that was in the bathroom should also be replaced, because it made a strange sound, I thought it would break at any moment...
- there was an unpleasant smell in the house, when we arrived we felt the need from the first moment to ventilate.
But most of the windows cannot be opened at all, they are blocked...
- there were many personal things left there." ~Edith
"Pros: The host was nice and willing to make me feel comfortable. The place was fine, near the university campus. There was everything I needed." ~Kateřina
"Pros: Julia and Pekka offered to meet us at the airport for a pick up for 30 euros. They were lovely and friendly, offered their local suggestions for food and things to do. The apartment was on the second floor with a nice view of the forest (Tiaga) behind with a balcony. The living was spacious and had a working TV (though we believed it wasn't a smart TV). The kitchen had all the essentials for storing and cooking food for 2 people. More than 2 might be a push but do able. The bathroom was good and the inbuilt sauna was definitely a bonus. The apartment is in a quiet area and is approx 30 mins walk from town with a supermarket nearby (15 min walk) and a smaller shop being 5 mins away.
Cons: The pictures from of the bedroom implies it is separate from the living room, however it is not (photo attached). There was no bedside table for lamps/lighting or for us to put anything in close proximity besides the floor. Not the worst thing in the world but it is of note." ~Jeff
