"Pros: Family run so it was very personal. Location at the beach. Cons: it was next to a very noisy street. Our room was facing the sea but you could still hear the street noise. I did not like the fact that so many people were constantly smoking. I wish they would be a smoke free facility. The beach was rocky so not so pleasant to swim." ~Minna

"Pros: The apartment is beautiful, just like in the photos and is fully equipped with everything you might need including a Bluetooth portable speaker. The location is superb. Koumbes beach is away from all the crowds, the beach is quiet and has some pebbles just as you enter the sea but then the sea is sandy and shallow and you can stand comfortably for about 50ft, so great for kids. There is a coffee shop right next door and a small supermarket less than 5 min walk away. The larger supermarkets are about a 10 min walk. Old town Rethymno, the old Port and the Fortessa (great spot for watching the sunset) are about a 15-20 min walk with a couple of bars you can stop at along the way. Best of all though, if you head from the villa, in the opposite direction, from the old town, you will find a group of five really good quality restaurants, all on the waters edge with superb food and spectacular views within a five minute walk. Finally, the management company, Etouri, were extremely helpful in organising things like taxis, boat hire and a day out at a beach club As well as arranging a very smooth check in and check out process. All in all, I’d highly recommend both the apartment itself, the the town of Rethymno as a resort and Etouri as a management company." ~Adrian
