"Pros: This place! It’s simply the best stay in our opinion. Only a few minutes walk to Kalamitsi beach where you can enjoy the small and quiet bay (beach chairs come with the apartment) and go for a swim. We were also blown away by the story and visit to the Patrick & Joan Leigh Fermor House which is practically the neighbouring estate. Kardamili village is just down the main road. And up the road will bring you to Stoupa and Agios Nicolaos. The Mani region is just beautiful. The hosts are just wonderful. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine, homemade cake, fruits, water, juice, honey, toast, butter and jams. Also enough coffee and tea. The apartment is very clean and has every you need. The best asset is the main terrace to enjoy your sundowners. We can highly recommend Evgeniko villa. Cons: N/a" ~Elish

"Pros: The little house+pool is located at the entrance of Kardamyli, less than 1km from the town's center. The pool was great and private. The house could use a bit of repair, mostly the bedroom's A/C unit which produces a terrible smell of moisture. But it does freeze the room in minutes. It was nice swimming in the pool and watching the sunset in total privacy. Cons: The lady owner was a really lovely person. She even let us borrow their inflatable unicorn-that was fun! The same goes for the clean lady from Ukraine—our sympathy towards her country. BUT! The whole Palataki Hotel's owner was someone I wish I hadn't encountered during my stay. Day #1: I'm sitting in the entry area waiting to get my wifi codes and learn some info. And he comes there asking his wife "Who is this?" pointing at me. Maybe it's my long hair look, I don't know, but I didn't feel nice. Ok. Day #2: Next morning, I meet him at the same spot. His question, without any "good mornings" etc was very serious: "ARE YOU A CHRISTIAN OR A MUSLIM?" WOW! If it were someone else, it would lead to a very different answer or even a fight. What did he care about my religion and dared to ask in THAT way? Day #3: I'm coming from my morning walk to town to get coffee under the burning sun. Mind that it's an uphill road. Again without any other comment, I got a "WHAT, YOU TIRED ALREADY?" Bad humor perhaps? Day #7: I'm stopping by the reception to let them know that we'll be leaving in an hour. AGAIN, without any "good mornings"or other stuff he never heard of, he asks me in a very unpolite and strict manner "WHY DID YOU WRITE ONLINE THAT YOU STAY IN STOUPA AND NOT KARDAMYLI"??? Perhaps, we checked it from another village during our dinner, and the tabloid press saw it and made some news about us (mind that both my wife and I are relatively known artists in Greece) so he made the impression that for some reason we hid our stay in Kardamyli. Which IF we did, would also make some sense, you know. So, all in all: MANNERS, "GOOD MORNINGS" AND A SMILE COST NOTHING. The same goes for my review here.
