"Pros: Nice old house in the centre of an old village. Bus stop, grocery store and larger village with restaurants and bars are all easily accessible on foot. There are many hiking opportunities around. Bus connections to Chora are frequent, however if you like to explore the island either scooter or car is recommended. The house is well equipped (washing machine, iron, owen...)." ~Blaž
"Pros: This apartment is an excellent base for your stay in Naxos. It was very clean & comfortable and a lot of attention had gone in to providing for the needs of travellers, I wish more properties did this, so for example, ample tablets for the dishwasher, liquid for the washing machine, soap/shampoo/etc in the bathroom and basic supplies in the kitchen.
The location is very handy, the car park only a few minutes walk down the road (it gets busy at peak times but we always got a space) with a well stocked supermarket next door. A few minutes walk in the opposite direction brings you to the village centre which is touristy but not overly so (unlike Filoti!) with a selection of restaurants & souvenir shops.
You are right in the centre of Naxos, so it is easy to drive to all parts of the island, nothing is very far away and the drive to get places is pleasant - for example, we tended to go to Agiassos beach late afternoon after a day's tourism, a drive of 20-25 mins. Be aware that the property is on a major road, so it can get a bit noisy, but you can always sit at the back of the apartment with a view over the countryside or by/in the jacuzzi.
Other reviews have commented on the bakery below, we didn't have any issue with this; yes, you may wake up briefly to voices at 4am but with the a/c on overnight there was no noticeable heat from the ovens and you could pop down for fresh bread every morning.
The hosts for this property were very helpful as well with swift and reliable communication.
Cons: Hard to fault this wonderful property." ~Gary
