"Pros: WE LOVED everything of OUR STAY IN OKKIROI VILLAS ! Especially the sunrise 🌅 watched by our balcony. the staff is amazing, so kind ! We had great time, the apartment was huge and a great deal. The location is near restaurants and shops. We really had great time in Crete thanks also to our stay. Thank you so much to all the Okkiroi staff members ! Your kindness is special. "Pros: The property is beautiful, clean and has a variety of different dining options. We visited during their off peak season so it was not crowded; we were always able to have a sunbed on the beach, go to the restaurants without booking and service was fairly quick. The hotel is fairly close to the airport, so it was convenient for a shorter stay. Cons: Access was a little tricky with a pram. When we left, the hotel asked us what we thought of our stay. We wrote them an email stating our concerns, but this was never acknowledged, which I believe is insincere. The hotel prides itself on customer service, but weren’t polite enough to respond to my email. Here is what we said: Hi Markos, we really enjoyed our stay at Abaton however one suggestion would be improved accessibility. We came on holiday with our 3 month old baby and needed to use a stroller. We found accessing parts of the resort with the stroller difficult: (1) given the elevator was broken it was hard to access the beach/pool and we had to carry the stroller down the 3 steps between the shops and bar area to access the outside areas/ breakfast; (2) it was difficult to access the beach boardwalk without walking a very long route down to the Cretan restaurant and going through the restaurant (and there was no easy access from the other end of beach from the pool ) ; and (3) it would have been good to have some steps down to the beach as you had to climb down a steep bank which was precarious when carrying a baby. The other non-accessibility suggestion would be for your cleaners to be careful/quiet if they are moving furniture when cleaning rooms in the morning. We were woken a couple of times in the morning." ~Hannah
