"Pros: Mikri Gonia is a compact and well sound-proofed apartment in an excellent location in the heart of Skiathos Town!
On the first night of our stay, we had an issue with the boiler and had no hot water. The host, Alexandra, was fantastic with excellent communication and got the issue sorted promptly, arranging for a plumber to come and fix the issue the next morning. Additionally, our request for early check-in was also accommodated, which was very much appreciated.
Cons: We feel the photos of the property misrepresent the size of the rooms in the apartment, with the photos giving the impression that the apartment is bigger than it actually is. So, the bedroom and bathroom was quite cramped for my 6ft 4 partner and there's barely any space for a large suitcase in the upstairs bedroom.
The stairs are also quite steep with steps varying in size and depth - this was quite difficult for my parents who have mobility issues.
The mosquito net for the doors to the roof terrace was broken also. We were also disappointed that there wasn't a bottle of water in the property on our arrival, considering the tap water is not safe for drinking (or even kettle boiling) as outlined in the host's welcome pack! As a result, we felt the price was quite costly, considering it was the last week of September and that many businesses on the island of Skiathos start to close down around this time.
We were also disappointed that there was no option for bed linen change or a clean of the property during our stay. Additionally, the wording on the welcome pack for a change of towels asks quests to consider just one set of towels each, for the sake of the environment but "in the event you really need extra towels, e.g., for a longer stay, there are extras...". While we appreciate the environmental concerns, we felt this wording was vague (i.e., what does the host consider a longer stay?). We stayed for a week, and when you are going to the beach, you shower more regularly, therefore a clean towel half way through our stay is what we would have liked (as we didn't really feel clean) however, we felt like we weren't really allowed to go and get ourselves a clean towel and this isn't what we'd expect, considering the price we paid for the stay and also considering that this isn't mentioned prior to booking." ~Christina
"Pros: Beautiful House, super comfy beds, centrally situated, large terrace to enjoy watching the boats coming in and out, good air conditioning, although in the heart of the town once windows and shutters shut it the blocked noise,
Cons: Unfortunately during our stay we had some problems with drainage upstairs bathroom" ~Sally
"Pros: The location was perfect for the port and the town. Ideal property for 4 friends.
Cons: We hadn’t realised how busy and noisy it would be on a Friday night. However since it was just for one night, it was ok." ~Linda
