The traditional mansion, dating back to 1850, has been rebuilt and refurbished in accordance to the regional architecture.The villa has views of a gorge, mountains and hills. The use of wood throughout, covering floors, ceilings and stairs, and the extensive use of local stone, lends the villa its special character. Traditional elements include a wine press and a wood-burning oven. Villa Irini is 32 km away from Chania and 28 km from Rethymnon. There are several traditional café in the village and a tavern serving genuine Cretan cuisine.
