There was a great sense of security around the area where the guest houses are located, the beach and the centre of Kakovatos village only a walking distance from the guest house's location."

"Pros: We found it to be a most delightful little apartment with everything we needed for a short stay. Eleni was a most attentive and friendly host and she was able to tell us a bit about the region as well as help us with some things we needed to know in Greek. Walking down through her gorgeous garden, over the dunes to the sea side was really special. It is a most wonderful protected area - we were intrigued to find out that it became a nature reserve only three years ago because of turtles nesting in the dunes. That means no more building near the dune landscape, which is very good news. The village nearby is perfect for buying food and eating out, a very friendly place. We were particularly delighted by all the flowering shrubs in this very verdant part of Greece as well as the marvellous trees, including many mulberry trees. Eleni’s place is right in the middle of this area. Although it was very hot, the air conditioning worked well, and we loved our little balcony with its very efficient canopy. The wi-fi was really efficient too, so we were able to catch up with things we needed to do online. Thank you for a lovely stay!
Cons: The ants were a pain, getting into many of our food containers, even unopened jars! But you always have to watch out for them in hot countries so we were glad to have plenty of bags and rubber band to secure packaging - and they couldn’t get into the fridge!"

"Pros: Great location (within 5 minute walk to the beach and 1 minute walk to the center of the village); privacy (the small house sits to side from the main house); garden view with beautiful mountains in the background, with a wonderful fig tree right next to us; great outside hot water shower (in addition to the private shower inside the house); private outside space as well as a large glassed patio; very clean house equipped with everything one would need; friendly and helpful host who treated us to fruits from their garden and home-made sweets."
