"Cons: Definitely the worst experience with a host through booking.
At the start, please be prepared for a 3-kilometer road through the forest and areas without asphalt, because nowhere in the description does it say that the cottage is located that far away. If you do not want your car scratched by branches and a lot of sand in the tires, I do not recommend it. The house is fenced, but there are wild animals around, so you definitely have to be careful. The hostess of the apartment did not set in the rental options that she wanted her house to be rented for a minimum of 7 days and after our reservation for the weekend, she wrote to us to cancel the reservation. We reported this to the very polite support of booking.com and when the host was intimidated by a penalty for cancellation, he agreed to let us come. The owner is a very unpleasant and dishonest woman. She took the agreed 150 euro deposit from us for possible DAMAGE, which we knew about and we transferred the money without a problem before renting. When we were handing over the apartment, the woman said she wouldn't give us our money back because, for example, there was some sand on the floor. It could have been cleaned up in 10 minutes, but we simply didn't have time to do it before she arrived. We suggested that we could do it now, but she told us to go. The height of the scam was when the woman started shouting at us that there were still wet (washed) dishes in the dish dryer. I would like to point out that the woman arrived at around 2 p.m., and we wanted to eat dinner before the long journey, so we politely washed up after ourselves and left the wet dishes to dry. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough for the woman. Despite the fact that the cleaning fee is included in the rental price, we did the basic cleaning (i.e. taking out the trash, wiping the tables, washing the dishes). The woman literally shouted at us and said that it was dirty to scare us and so that she could keep the 150 euro deposit." ~Bargieł
