My hosts bent over backwards to make me at home, with Mikhas monumental feasts and Nolvi serenading on guitar. You are instantly accepted as part of this enchanting community...invited to a wedding, church on Sundays, etc. Good snorkelling everywhere." ~Charles

"Pros: Two lovely adjacent bungalows in front of the beach in the village with a shared porch with a dining table and relax chairs. The host Mamalis made amazing varied food, some of the best we’ve had in Indonesia. Papa Sem has a boat for snorkeling and dolphin tours. The atmosphere is calm, close to the pier and two diving schools. Communication in English is done through Stefen, who runs a nearby homestay. He is very friendly, like Mamalis and Papasem, whom you can talk to in Indonesian and through translation apps. Cons: The bed mattresses could be better and you need to flush the toilets yourself with water from a tub. Not a problem though." ~Willem
