"Pros: Very friendly staff, some of them could speak English well, the room was spacious and had a very good view of the mountains, futon was comfortable to sleep in, appreciated that they topped up the water in the kettle, the onsen was delightful, the snacks were delicious, amenities provided were good quality, location was up on the steep hill but the bus stop is maybe about 100 meters away. Overall, it was worth it and a delight to stay in.
Cons: The steep but short hill climb to get to the hotel from the bus stop. Also, the hotel is not located near any convenience stores and many of the restaurants/cafes at Ikaho Onsen close early. So it is recommended to book room plan with meals included. However, be sure to check with the hotel whether they cater to allergies because it was mentioned on their website that they do not cater to allergies."
