"Pros: Nice location, absolutely stunning views from rooms and the breakfast area, wonderful in-room onsen in the room in the room we booked. First-rate English on the part of the very helpful front desk staff. A fantastic hotel in a fantastic city!
Cons: Candeo Hotels as a chain do not tend to be particularly well designed for families, and this location was no exception, unfortunately.
Space always tends to be limited in Japanese hotel rooms; I travel to Japan often, so I know to expect this. But I have yet to see a place for luggage or shoes in any Candeo room, ever. For a single traveler, that does not tend to be much of a problem. But with luggage for three people, that means that the room necessarily becomes an awkward mess of bags, shoes, etc, blocking the entry area and door. Similarly, Candeo hotels never seem to have paces to put towels or wash clothes for most than one person.
It is pretty clear to me that no Candeo executive or architect has ever stayed in their rooms with their families, or even just a second person, or they would not design their rooms this way."
