"Pros: We had an exciting, wonderful one-night stay at this beautiful and luxury Ryokan hotel, which is situated directly on the seaside with a marvelous sight on the sea and the Japanese Alps in the background, directly from our room and from the traditional hot Onsen bath (open the whole night!). The dinner and the breakfast in your private “séparée” were extraordinary, Japanese kitchen at it’s best, and the personal of this family-run Ryokan was extremely friendly and accommodating. They have also a bus shuttle from Kagaonsen railway station, which is a stop of the new Shinkansen prolongation opened only in March 2024 Cons: The rooms are typically Japanese, which may be a little bit spartan, as it is its character, but they were large, with an exciting view, very “zen” and everything was fully functional and operating. The façade of the building and some commons could need a fresh-up." ~Goris
