"Pros: This hostel is really excellent value considering it contains a good onsen, excellent kitchen, spacious dining / lounge area and very roomy dorms with comfortable beds. The location in Asahidake was much more beautiful than I had anticipated (especially as the snow was beginning to fall), and the staff were especially attentive and friendly. Don’t hesitate! The Onsen was perfect at the end of a hike - with an indoor and outdoor bath and plenty of showering space. Re provisions - yes there is a little shop on site but it is limited to simple dried ingredients & instant food / ice cream etc. I would recommend bringing things from Asahikawa or elsewhere. Also there is an ok restaurant at the ropeway which closes at 3!" ~Fred
