"Pros: Kio was wonderful throughout our entire stay . He greeted us upon arriving and sent us off on our way. Meals were amazing, atmosphere was wonderful , so nice to experience a Buddhist temple .
Cons: I understand that the building is very old so very difficult to heat but it was quite chilly everywhere in the building other than your room or where we dined.
I also think it would be nice if we could use the hot tub / shower facilities in the morning and have a little later check out :)"

"Pros: We had a traditional family room for 5 adults which was fun. It was two bedrooms on the upper floor with futon lined up in a row, 3 in each room with a sliding door between. There was a common room with a table and floor seating which was connected to the bedrooms. We had a garden view which would have been stunning if we could keep the doors open. However, it was very chilly the night we stayed and we kept the doors shut at all times. Each room had a portable heater. We had a shared bathroom just down the stairs. We could access the common bath area - there was a tub schedule because the bath could accommodate 4 people at a time. The meals were vegetarian and very delicious with beautiful presentation. We were seated on the floor of the common dining area. Service was wonderfully attentive. After supper we popped across the street to the temple grounds to see the structures lit up at night...beautiful. Feel very fortunate to catch a 7 am service. The hondo (worship hall) was conveniently downstairs from our sleeping area.
Cons: Easy to get chilled with the low outside temperatures. Had to stay on top of closing the sliding doors securely or there would be a draft coming in."
