"Pros: It’s exquisite especially nestled beside a beautiful waterfall The room are comfortable and makeup with electric blankets to ensure our warmth.
Mr Takimi is very friendly and a great chef, roviding us with wide spread and varieties of delicious food for dinner and breakfast.
We were fortunate to witness the first snow this year at his place and it was a breathtaking scene.
Cons: Nil" ~Tong
"Pros: This is a bring your own supplies stay, but all the kitchenware needed was available.
The house is rented on a single group basis, so you could do as you pleased.
Cons: Not much." ~Tomoko
"Pros: I was a little worried after reading other reviews but I had absolutely zero problems with this property, actually I liked it.
You do need t be aware that there is no food on site or food making facilities (there is a fridge, tea, hot water and cold water, as well as a vending machine for beer and other drinks). So bring food! And get it at Magome or before if you can as there wasnt much at Tsumago.
We got picked up by the shuttle bus at Tsumago after walking all day, checked in to the guest house at the hotel reception and then were shown our room at Tokonomiso. The room was massive, and you set up the futons yourself which is kind of fun. They provided us with yukatas and towels and slippers to wear to go to the onsen.
As others have said, you use the onsen that is part of the fancy hotel. It was bliss!
In the morning the shuttle is available again to take you back to Tsumago or on to Nagiso for the train." ~Nicole
