Set among mountains and fields of green at Hokkaido’s rugged heart, Akane-yado is a 15-minute drive from Naka-Furano Train Station. It offers free Wi-Fi throughout and serves home-cooked meals with an advance reservation, for a fee. Guests are assigned either a Western room or a Japanese room at check-in, based on availability. Japanese-style rooms feature traditional futon bedding on a tatami (woven-straw) floor. Bathrooms and toilets are shared, and towels and toiletries must be brought by guests. All rooms are non-smoking. Free transport is available daily to/from JR Nakafurano Station. A lavender farm is 12 km away, while Furano Cheese Factory and the Furano Winery are both a 20-minute drive. The Tokachidake ski area is a 45-minute drive away. Akane-yado Inn has a cosy lounge and a wood deck, both of which look out on the rich natural surroundings. The property can arrange lessons at a ski school, on advance request. Japanese and Western set breakfasts and dinners are available for a fee, and must be reserved at least 1 day in advance. Other dining options are at least a 20-minute drive away.

A prepayment via credit card is required to secure your reservation. === How to get there === On weekdays, a town-operated free shuttle runs between JR Nakafurano Station and Akane-yado. - From JR Nakafurano Station: the bus leaves at 17:17 in front of supermarket Marche. Inform the drive that you would like to be dropped off at Akane-yado. - From the Hotel: the bus leaves the hotel at 07:00 and 09:30. - On weekends and holidays, the bus leaves the station at 17:30. The bus leaves the hotel at 08:00 and 09:30. Please make a reservation at least 1 day in advance. A free shuttle to/from the Furano Kitanomine ski area can be arranged, during the winter ski season.
