"Pros: The quaint old ryokan but in a hotel setting. Across from the UNESCO Heritage site. Nearby Lawson (5min walk) bus stops. A clean inhouse onsen & bath. Cons: They try to be perfect on timing, but cant get the tatami rolling out on time. But the shuttle to the station runs on time. Tat was my annoyance. Asked for the dining add on upon check in. They refused to allow as we didn’t choose the package. Seems robotic that they cant make adjustments or add more sales by the add ons. Like if we said 4 ppl and we came and ask for 2nd helping, they would turn us away. A very rigid hospitality. Dry with no warm hospitality. I would expect it in Tokyo but in Nikko..hmm" ~Aileena

"Pros: Only a couple of minutes walk to Toshogu shrine. Restaurants up the hill same street on left beautiful old sukiyaki restaurant. Give that a go while staying here. Dont forget to go to Kegon falls too Cons: Older Japanese style hotel with grand bath was great experience at night. Every morning free coffee in the first floor cafe." ~Ray
