"Pros: This property is one of the better-value ones (large space, free parking), although it's a distance from Toshugo Shrine and even further from Lake Chuzenji. The caretaker spoke only Japanese but we got by using Google Translate.
We stayed at the ground floor unit and didn't have to lug our luggage up the stairs.
Cons: The apartment has a kitchen, a washing machine and a dryer. I didn't find laundry detergent, washed my laundry at a nearby laundromat and used the dryer in the apartment.
There was some clutter but quite tolerable."

"Pros: We had a great stay here. The room was a simple but traditional Japanese style room with a futon on the floor. You could add in extra mats and we found them comfortable and warm. The water pressure in the shower was excellent. And the owner was the nicest and went out of his way to help us. The location itself was about a 10-15 min walk down to Lake Ashi and right near a bus stop which was handy."
