"Pros: This island is pure magic—white sand, crystal-clear waters, and lush vegetation, all complemented by the perfect blend of comfort and natural beauty. Our room was not only spacious and comfortable but also integrated into the island’s charm, with an open-air bathroom and an outdoor shower. The location is ideal, especially for those with early flights, as it’s conveniently close to Malé. You can make the most of your stay right up until the last moment. A standout feature is the new bar—an incredible spot to unwind with a drink while watching breathtaking sunsets. The marine lab is another highlight, offering engaging activities like reef cleaning, which gives guests a deeper understanding of the environmental challenges facing the Maldives and a chance to contribute. For snorkeling, the reef at the sister island, Ihuru, is spectacular. We encountered sharks, rays, turtles, and a dazzling variety of colorful fish—a truly unforgettable experience. Lastly, a special mention to Rajesh at the barbecue—his kindness and exceptional cooking skills added an extra touch of hospitality that made our trip even more memorable. Cons: As returning guests, we felt that the attention to detail had slipped compared to our previous visits. For instance, the turndown service was inconsistent, and we had to request more tea for our room after running out, which we hadn’t experienced before. We also preferred the previous dining experience, where the menu changed daily, offering more variety. The current setup includes numerous supplements, which can make the options feel somewhat limited unless you’re willing to pay extra on top of what’s already included." ~Caroline

"Pros: The resort (around 40 rooms) is simply beautiful and a little piece of paradise. The gardeners and housekeepers definitely stand out for keeping such a meticulously clean and pleasant environment and the level of professionalism can be seen in the details all around the island and inside your bedroom. All staff is kind and care about the guests from arrival/pick up until the very last moment at departure. You can see that they all try their best to make you have the best possible experience. We are travelling with two small kids and everyone was extremely kind also with them. The coral reef is the nicest we have seen in the last years and right in front of your room you’ll be able to see sharks, rays, colorful fishes and sea turtles. Even my non swimmer 2 years old daughter could see all this without going underwater! The island is located less than half an hour from Male which makes it very comfortable to reach. We loved our stay and would definitely come back and recommend it Cons: The food was not so much of our liking and we did not find it up to standard. Furthermore, there is usually the possibility to visit the neighbor island (5 minutes far) of Banyan Tree but for the whole length of our stay it was completely reserved for a private occasion." ~Claudia

Baros Maldives is a small island close to Male’ city set in a turquoise lagoon with villas secluded in palm-shaded glades by a white sandy beach or perched over-water with private sun deck. Many of the elegant, sandstone and timber, palm-thatched villas have their own plunge pool and some have a spa bath too. Every villa is private, has an espresso machine and a wine and mini-bar; in-villa entertainment includes a flat-screen TV and iPod dock. Guests can pamper themselves at the Spa or take a dip in the overwater infinity pool. Water sports and yoga are available; the resort also has a library lounge and free in-room WiFi. A Villa Host is on call around the clock providing a discreet, personalised service making every stay hassle-free. The resort has both an EcoDive and a Marine Centre. Three restaurants cater for fine dining, sea-food and Asian delicacies and private dining can be arranged in-villa, on an isolated sandbank or on a deck over the lagoon. The Sails Bar serves drinks all day under the palms and there is a sea-view evening cocktail and cigar lounge. Room service is available for 24 hour. Baros Maldives is a 25-minute speedboat ride from Male International Airport. Airport transfer is available at a charge.
