"Pros: Clean, spacious room with great view of the Bacalar Lagoon on the balcony. Kitchen was well stocked (although it could use a cutting board). Door to the kitchen could be closed, which kept the noise of the fridge out of the bedroom (highly appreciated). There was also access to the lagoon for swimming and hanging out. Nice and friendly owner. Would stay there again. Cons: It was a bit hard to find: get off the highway right north of Bacalar at "MÍA Bacalar Luxury Resort & Spa" or "Rancho Encantado". Both are connected to a small dirt road, running along the highway, where you'll find Rancho San Fernando (close to the north end of the small dirt road). Or simply search for "Rancho San Fernando" on Google Maps ("San Fernando" didn't bring up any usable results for us). The short dirt road is a bit adventurous but was doable with our normal rental car." ~Achim

"Pros: The deco in the room was very nice. The construction seemed of good quality. The woman who greeted us upon arrival was lovely. Cons: The hotel has a very nice setting on the lake but your view of the lake is quite limited due to large trees. Which I am sure are nice when it is hot and you can enjoy their shade. The "breakfast" is very limited. If you want eggs, you cook them yourself and clean up. We went out for breakfast after the first day. Our room was on the bottom floor and you did not have any privacy if your curtain was pulled open. It was next to the public space and the path to the lake so anyone can just look right in at your bed. It is quite a distance out of town. Not their fault, I knew that when I booked. But, it would have been nice if it was a walkable distance into town. We had to drive everywhere." ~Wego
