"Pros: We liked being just out of the main tourist area. The place was comfortable and clean and we liked the owners…teasing them to call us when they were ready to sell the place. Celestun is still a small Mexican village….sure there are a couple larger establishments…but overall, it is a small town and the vibe is very laid back…and then there are the flamingos!" ~Mark

"Pros: Beautiful apartment, fantastic barbecue facilities, beach access. To make your stay even better when you arrive, stop at a supermarket and buy water, coffee, coffee filters, ice and food for the first night. The local restaurants close early. There is a little market that closes at 14:00, but there are shops in town for essential. If you can, and like cooking, bring a blender. We made salsa by chopping, the long way.
