"Pros: Wow! Where to start. Casa Las Turtugas is an absolute paradise! We loved every moment of our stay in Isla Holbox. Whilst it requires a considerable effort to reach Holbox (Car, Plane, Car, Ferry, Golf Buggy!), it is certainly worth it! From the moment we arrived the hotel staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Our room, Orquidea, was on the top floor with a fantastic sea/sunset view! And the plunge pool was the cherry on the icing on the cake! The hotel is so well designed, and I would say perfectly situated in Holbox - a five minute walk from the main part of town, and many bars, restaurants and shops. We tried two of the hotel's restaurants - Mandarina and Luuma - both were very good and reasonably priced for the quality of the food. The grounds and gardens are stunning. And the beach is just perfect - fine white sand and a shallow warm sea - and hardly any seaweed! Many good bars and restaurants literally a two minute walk along the beach either way. The beach area of the hotel is stunning - think plenty of palm trees, sun loungers, a fire-pit, tables and chairs and all-day bar service! Breakfast was included and very good - bread/pastries/fruit bowls + main, served directly on the beach in a beautiful seating area, or in the bar just back from the beach. When compared to Tulum, Holbox is much small and more charming. But there is enough going on to keep you busy for at least ten days! And the beach is much more accessible and affordable than Tulum. And the place generally feels quieter and safer. Getting around is easy, and we mostly walked the sandy streets of restaurants, bars and shops. You can also hire a golf buggy, or grab a special Holbox taxi if you want to travel further afield to either end of the island - Punto Cocos or Playa Mosquito - both worth a visit. All in all I think probably our best ever holiday. The hotel, setting, people and whole Holbox experience is something really special. We will see you again soon! Cons: Nothing too much to say here. The only thing I think the hotel could consider is tea/coffee making facilities in the room and perhaps a small fridge. But I will use the rest of this space to add a few recommendations around Holbox: Restaurants: Big Fish, Basico, PiedraSanta, Paradoor33, Tacomoquieras, Painapol, Quartieri and a great choice of street food! Overall a good selection of upmarket dining and cheap, good quality street food options. Trips: Mangrove Sunrise Kayak Tour (crocodile spotting!), Playa Mosquito - walk along the sandbank, Punto Cocos - sunset. Bars: Hot Corner. What a place. Music and Salsa dancing in the street every night. Great fun people watching. La Anemona - great Margarita's just around the corner from Hot Corner. Beach Bars - Capitan Capitan, Raices, Bikini Bottom. All good and reasonably priced! Ice Cream: La Gelateria de Holbox - a regular nightly stop! Hire a Golf Buggy - great fun." ~Mark

"Pros: -We stayed for 10 nights at the beginning of April 2025, we were given a room upgrade due to the length of our stay. -The location of the hotel was almost perfect, basically right on the beach(small sandy road between the hotel and it's beachclub). Lots of restaurants within walking distance. -2 small pools at the hotel so you had a choice if one was busy(neither were busy during our entire stay). -Housekeeping brought a small cooler after our first night to keep our drinks cold. -Good value for money. -Very quiet. -Very clean and well maintained overall(beach club could use some upgrades however). Cons: A couple of minor items. -The room had no fridge, I understand that this is not uncommon in small hotels in locations like this but even a small mini fridge would be great to keep drinks cool. -There is no seating around the pools unless you are in a room that is right beside the pool. If you are in an upstairs room you can't really sit around by the pool. -The condition of the loungers and umbrellas at the beach club was on the older and worn out side of things. We used the hotel beach club 2 days and then moved on to the NANA beach club 2 doors down that had much better seating and more selection of food and drinks. NANA was 600mxn pp consumption vs 500 for the hotel beachclub(maybe no minimum for hotel guests?) -The hotel seems to have Starlink internet but with minimal routers the wifi was poor in our room(but we didn't come to Isla Holbox to be connected, we came to disconnect and unwind so this was really a positive!)" ~Jonathan
