"Pros: Rashid is an amazing host and makes staying at Da Wadada a wonderful experience. Da Wadada is located on the hills above Chefchaouen meaning beautiful fresh air and amazing views of the valley." ~Lars
"Pros: Beautiful house on a hill 25 minutes walk from the city, excellent breakfast, friendly lady who welcomed us, great view.
Cons: We stayed here in March, so it was quite cold, especially in the house. It has air conditioning/heating, but the windows are so bad that practically all the heat goes out, you can see your own breath in the bedroom. It's probably only like that in winter. The house needs minor renovation, especially the ceiling, as the plaster/paint is falling off (see photos). The road is in very bad condition, especially when it rains, so an SUV and good tires are highly recommended. And yes, one evening on the way home we were almost attacked by a dog that wasn't on a leash, so caution is recommended, especially at night." ~Gasper
"Pros: Wow what an experience.
No road assess , it’s a 20 min trek/scramble up the mountain side, so travel light, wear good footwear,
reasonable fitness is required.
The accommodation is very basic, clean bed and toilet!! What else do you need ?
Food was organic all home grown and cooked by Ahmed and it was the best tagine we have had since arriving in Morocco 3 weeks ago.
It is an amazing insight to how people live up in the mountains.
We felt very welcome and spend a fantastic day trekking up to the akchour waterfalls with Ahmed’s bother and friend . Who shared their picnic of bread ,fruit and nuts , all products of the farm .
We loved it ,the best and most memorable two days of our holiday so far .
But it’s not for everyone!
No wifi and the only electricity is solar for limited lighting .
If you don’t do very basic don’t go and if you do and expect more don’t write a bad review. Its how this lovely family live . Enjoy the peaceful , relaxing, taste of rural way of life" ~Sue
