"Pros: We really loved staying at Amayour Surf Hostel, the staff were super friendly and got in touch with us via Whatsapp before our stay to arrange airport transport and to book us on for breakfast and additional activities. The views from the terrace were amazing, seeing the sunrise in the morning was so beautiful and the views of the ocean and beach in the distance were stunning. The food was absolutely incredible, and enough to fill double the amount of people that were there. It was so nice to all eat together at the long table, felt very much like a family. There was a social seating area on the terrace that was sheltered and stocked with cards and games for us to use. The Thursday night BBQ was awesome, so much food and delicious, it was really nice to share this event with the other local Amayour Hostel too. All the staff were incredibly friendly and it was so much fun to go surfing with the surf instructors and our group, they were all so fun and make the surf trips a lot of fun! They arranged all the transport and lunch too when surfing which meant all we had to do was show up at the right place, confirm our wetsuit size, and sign in. The guys even knew our board preferences after a day or two which was a lovely little touch.
Cons: There could be a bit of improvement with the facilities, although they were absolutely functional. We stayed in the double room on the terrace, it was a little bit smaller and more basic than we initially expected, but I think this was because some of the photos online were from one of the other Amayour accommodations that is slightly more modern and light and airy. The mattress was pretty hard (compared to what we are used to), so we found it a bit uncomfortable to sleep on, especially after a full day of surfing and an achy body. There was just the one plug socket in the room so we couldn't have the fan and the lamp plugged in at the same time, or charge our phones over night, so we had to prioritise the fan overnight, then charge our phones at other times in the day." ~Rhi
"Pros: Brilliant location for views, hearing the sea, and for shops/restaurants etc.
Cons: Furniture is getting a little tired, though adequate.
Lovely gesture of a bottle of wine would have been enhanced by a corkscrew! ( I managed)..
Similarly, a little coffee would be great, until shopping options were known.
But these are minor issues." ~Paul
