"Pros: Mark and Laraine were the perfect hosts during our wonderful stay at Villa des Roses. They were really friendly and accommodating and answered any questions promptly, going out of their way to make us feel welcome.
We stayed at Villa des Roses for a week with our two children, aged three and one. The house itself is wonderful and has excellent facilities. The pool is clean and well maintained and there is a lock on the door out of reach of children which is great for peace of mind when not in the pool. There were lots of floats and toys provided for adults and children and as many towels as we could need.
The house itself is modern and clean and finished to a very high standard, giving a luxury feel. The kitchen is bright and spacious with up to date appliances. The bedrooms are roomy and well finished and the walk-in wardrobe and en suite in the master bedroom are an added luxury. The garden is well maintained and enclosed, safe for children to play, with a lovely covered outdoor seating area as well as an uncovered seating and lounge area leading off the pool.
There are lots of books for all ages around the house and an extensive dvd collection to watch in the cosy snug. We enjoyed having access to lots of international tv channels through the satellite tv.
We had our car with us and made use of the garage but Mark and Laraine also provided several bikes for our use. There is a supermarket a 5 minute bike ride away on safe cycle paths. We also contacted local Michelin star restaurant Eden and arranged an at-home dining experience which we enjoyed greatly.
Over the road from des Roses is a big forest, great for long walks, but we must admit we barely left the villa during our stay! We had everything we needed and with the garden and pool our children were more than happy!
