"Pros: Although at first this place might seem like a strange setup, it actually worked well for me. And ignore the fact it's on the edge of the industrial area.
The house is currently divided into two guest rooms. Each room has its own bathroom down the hall. There is a communal kitchen. The beds were comfy. The place was clean. Bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom.
It is 10 mins walk to the centre of Invercargill. The kitchen was modern and had everything you need.
I had the room that also had double doors out onto the back yard. As I was travelling by bicycle this was very convenient.
I would use this place again.
Cons: Nothing. All good.
If I could offer some feedback - get commercial/professional cleaners to maintain the place. They will notice and sort out all the little bits that need cleaning. This would bring the score for cleanliness to 10 out of 10."

"Pros: John was pleasant and helpful
Cons: I wasn’t aware when I booked that it was a room in a unit sharing a very small bathroom with a male stranger
There was no way I could ascertain I had booked a home stay - I thought it was a motel room
The room was adequate but I didn’t like the pillows and linen which I found to be synthetic and uncomfortable
I found the key system where John wanted me to put the key back in the lockbox when I went out difficult to manage in the dark
Breakfast presented on a small table wedged into a corner of the living area was uninviting
Mostly I found the situation uncomfortable sharing with a stranger when I had expected my own space and bathroom
I think the booking system needs renewed so people can understand what they are booking before they book"
