"Pros: The house is in a beautiful location - set amongst the bush, with a view of Lake Taupo. The nearly lake access is a lovely beach area with a pontoon and boat access
The house itself is a quirky and unique property with a well-stocked kitchen. The photos are pretty representative of the actual house.
Cons: The house smelt fusty and damp on arrival. The children’s bedroom in particular was cold and smelt damp throughout our stay - with some improvement when we opened windows and turned heaters on.
Unfortunately the bedding throughout also smelt damp - to the point that we bought 4 new pillows from a local shop.
It was also quite grubby in some areas - clearly it is a well loved family bach, but it needs a thorough clean. Some of the furniture is past its best - stuffing coming out of a ripped arm of a sofa which should just be replaced."
