"Pros: Clean, with a well equipped kitchen area. A short walk down the path to the beach. Cons: Only three screens on the windows and no screen door meant that it was a decision whether to have insects or not allow the cool evening air to come in. I thought the accommodation was overpriced given the discomforts." ~Victoria

"Pros: This was on exceptional location right on the beach in Para Para, the views and access to the beach were breathtaking. Lovely front garden, peaceful and private. We had beautiful weather over the 12 nights we spent here. The location was perfect, 10 minutes to Collinwood and 15 minutes to Takaka, you need to have a car though! Cons: This is very much the quintessential New Zealand Bach (Holiday home), not luxury accommodation. The facilities are a bit tired and could use some tender loving care, particularly the bathroom, window fittings and the general cleanliness of the place (Deep clean required). The kitchen is well equipped and functional but once again the drawers and cupboards could do with a good clean. For 12 nights' accommodation I would have expected a change of towels and bed linen or at the very least, provision of laundry powder to wash the towels ourselves. Great to have a smart TV. Be aware the "second" bedroom is actually a sunroom off the lounge that gets exceptionally hot during the day and would be a squeeze to accommodate an extra adult couple, I wouldn't want to lose the coin toss when choosing the bedrooms! Overall, this was a good NZ Bach (holiday home) experience in the most perfect beach location." ~Michael

"Pros: Location & view from the property was spectacular - a total getaway Cons: The property/ Bach was very badly maintained & presented. Really sad as it was such a cute special iconic kind of place with a great view. There were so many things that were wrong that could have been renovated or fixed & presented in a far better way to ensure guests had a far better experience . Loved the spot but would not stay there again unless there had been a huge amount of TLC applied first !" ~Judith
