"Pros: Very friendly host. We received a warm welcome after our long journey from the UK. The room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable. Beautiful garden and outside seating area to enjoy. We wish we could have stayed longer. Cons: Some work surface to food prep, even for making a sandwich, would have been nice." ~Sarah

"Pros: We flew into Christchurch as we wanted to start our NZ adventure on the South Island. We arrived in the morning and Cathy & Grant let us check in early. Once settled, they suggested some ideas for that afternoon as well as several options for lunch & dinner . All of there recommendations were great. The location of the lodge is in a peaceful garden with a stream flowing through the back yard. We had a great night’s sleep as it has to be one of the quietest places in New Zealand. We spent the next day in Christchurch and a second peaceful night of sleep and we were well on our way to time zone adjustment and ready to explore more of the South Island.
