"Pros: We loved our stay at Bjødnabakkvegen! Everything is great: the location, the cabin itself, the host, the ski resort... We spent four nights at the cabin and had the best time. The cabin (or house, really, it is big!) is very close to Beitostølen ski resort (I took the bus from Oslo and the cabin is less than a ten minute walk from the bus stop at the ski resort). There is ample parking in front of the cabin. There are two bedrooms downstairs and two upstairs (one of them huge!) so you can sleep as many as ten people total. We were three adults and two kids and had tons of space. There is a full bath with a separate toilet downstairs as well as a full bathroom upstairs. When we arrived, we were greeted by a sweet Easter card and a big bar of chocolate - such a nice touch! The place has everything you need for a great stay - fireplace, large TV, a balcony with a beautiful view, and the kitchen is very well stocked with any appliance you need, including a dishwasher, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, even a sandwich maker. There is also a washer which I am sure is great for longer stays. Everything was spotless and clean.
Beitostølen itself is a wonderful destination both in summer and winter, and we had a great time at the ski resort. You can walk there easily, but it was also pretty easy to find parking which was nice with the kids. More experienced skiers can do "ski in, ski out" directly from the cabin, at the lift called Carlheisen. The ski resort is great for families and skiers of all abilities, and there is a free bus that takes you to Raudalen if you want more black pistes. (I took a 90 minute private class with a ski instructor, totally worth it since I've never been much of a skier, very much recommend this to other beginners.)
Thanks to the host for a fantastic stay!
Cons: Nothing." ~Eirin
