"Pros: The location, I have stayed in this area before on previous visits to Alvor. We booked through Clube Alvorferias on this occasion which was a much better experience.
Cons: When we arrived in Portugal we were informed we had to make our way to Praia da Rocha to check in and collect the keys. Check-in was strictly 4pm and we had arrived at 11am.
We had to pay an additional €105 for sheets and towels, when we arrived at the apartment that evening we had no sheets or towels. Despite the additional charges we were informed there would be no cleaning and no change of sheets or towels for the week. When we arrived at the apartment later that evening there were no sheets or towels. These arrived after lunch the following day in a large bag.
An additional €250 deposit was charged. I had to sign a contract to state there would be no breakages, stains on the bedding / towels and the rubbish had to be gone and the apartment cleaned. We had to buy cleaning products and wash the towels to ensure we got our deposit back.
I had been informed I had to return to Praia da Rocha on the last day of our holiday to collect the deposit. When I explained how unrealistic this was they agreed to inspect the property at 10am and bring the money for refund. We are a family of 5, we got up early to ensure we met all the criteria on their terms and conditions and vacated the property by 10am. No one arrived until 10.25am and the lady that arrived informed me the boss was coming, which was a bit intimidating. The boss arrived at 10.30 and sat in a parked car about 100 yards from me , didn’t come over and gave the deposit to the lady to give to me at 10.45. The whole experience was very uncomfortable."
