"Pros: Huge and comfortable house for 8 people. The kitchen is well equipped and the hot tub was wonderful. It was just a short walk to the cliffs, where we walked every day. The garden is large and beautiful. We loved it!

"Cons: We were deeply shocked and outraged to discover that Villa Elloah, in which we trusted to provide a safe and private environment for our stay, was equipped with several internal surveillance cameras. Yes, WITHIN THE HOUSE. As soon as we arrived at the house and encountered the cameras turned on, we sent a message to the owner, to which she responded that if we did not agree we should leave and that there was a Resort nearby. Completely unprofessional. This violation of our privacy is unacceptable and constitutes a serious and clear violation of our constitutional and legal rights, punishable under the Portuguese penal code. It is common knowledge that surveillance without consent in accommodation is illegal and a direct violation of our fundamental rights in Portugal. This is a serious matter that will not be ignored or underestimated.
Furthermore, your blatant attempts to extort additional funds from us are equally outrageous and unacceptable. First, the Villa asked us for a pre-deposit of 2000 euros in a shady French deposit application, outside the booking application, through personal email. To my surprise, at the end of the stay we received an email stating that 300 euros would be charged, with 50 euros for garbage removal, 50 euros for dishwashing, 100 euros for leaving grease on the table, and another 100 for checking out after 11 a.m., it is an act of blatant abuse. We paid 3000 euros (plus an additional 300 euros for pool heating) for a 5-day stay in a villa with a capacity of up to 10 people, but which was only enjoyed by 2, and yet you charge extra and improperly for a cleaning fee for dishwashing and garbage removal? Even when it is publicly stated on your Booking.com page that 200 euros constitute the cleaning fee. It is a despicable attempt to exploit our goodwill."
