"Pros: Beautiful on the outside and a cute and quirky concept. Has so much missed potential. Cons: Firstly, communication with the property was dreadful. We gave an hours notice of our arrival via booking.com and had a response stating they would see us soon. We were at the property outside a main 8 ish foot gate and wall for over an hour after travelling from Sintra. It was a very hot mid July day, about 28 degrees, with nowhere to sit or source more water/something to drink. After messaging again with no response we called an additional number on the booking.com page and were told the person who’d messaged the previous hour was based in Lisbon and we should have called. About twenty minutes later someone from an Ericeira property arrived and asked my partner to full force kick the huge gate open as it had swollen with the heat. This was repeatedly an issue as we struggled to open the gate every time we left the property. A WiFi box was plugged in to charge however it did not work at all while we were there. We got no support regarding this and both my partner and I had to pay to use our uk mobiles daily and later ran out of data making life very challenging in this tiny village as we were relying on Uber/Bolt to get around as Ericeira is over an hours walk away on bad roads and public transport was not at all frequent. We had a day without power/electricity in the property and after a while managed to get a response from messaging the team in Lisbon. The same person who had let us into the property made some calls and told us it was a general issue to the area and wouldn’t last more than four hours however we had already been without power for maybe six or seven hours at this point. She had offered to take my medication (insulin) to Ericeira to refrigerate as required however I couldn’t have my only source of medication so far in an unknown location as its required regularly each day." ~Sarah
