"Pros: The property was extremely clean, and very modern. The kitchen was great- spacious, modern, and stocked with plenty of dishes. (I can't comment on the pots and pans- we never cooked.) All three bedrooms upstairs had en-suite bathrooms, which was great. Plus there was another full bath upstairs, and a half bath downstairs. The owners, who happen to live right next door, were incredibly welcoming. The location was terrific- a pleasant 7 minute walk to the big grocery store (Continente), and a ten minute walk to the town center of Machico, where there were about 7 restaurants. Cons: Be aware that there is no A/C or heating system, and no screens on the windows. There are mosquitoes. We visited in early October, and it was warm and very humid. A/C would have been nice, but we could have been happy without it because it cooled off every evening. BUT when we opened windows to cool off the house, mosquitoes came in. Not huge numbers, but even one will spoil your sleep. So the choice was: hot nights in the bedrooms; or, mosquitoes. One other important thing: the third bedroom (with twin beds) has a loud pump in the ceiling that the kicks on ANYTIME water is used, at any tap in the house. It was quite loud. So we all had to agree- no flushing of toilets after lights out. So the 3rd bedroom was not a great place to be." ~Marshall

"Pros: Excellent, spacious apartment fully compliant with the description. There is everything you need for a comfortable vacation. Well equipped kitchen with plenty of utensils. The location is very convenient. Close to the beach, stores and bus stop. The owners were quick to respond to questions, were always in touch and accommodated our requests.
