"Pros: Coté Sud is situated in the garden of Eden : the two main buildings are nested in an incredible variety of lush tropical vegetation, huge palm trees, bread fruit trees, flowers, shrubs... From the veranda adjacent to the room, you can sit and contemplate nature, whilst relaxing to the soothing sound of birds singing and of water flowing by the house side. The bed is very comfortable and features a large mosquito net reminiscent of days gone by. The bathroom provides all the necessary amenities. The shower could be a bit larger, but this is a minor detail. The small outside kitchen, equipped with a fridge, a gas stove and a microwave, is very convenient to prepare breakfast or a light evening meal.
The owners turned out to be extremely welcoming and helpful, ready to provide all the practical information we needed and to supply anything we asked for and which was missing in the room. We arrived as customers and left as friends !
Cons: Do not chose this property if you enjoy high tech modern 6 floors concrete buildings situated in a lively area ! The charm of Coté Sud lies in its outdated decor. As improvements, we would suggest a larger shower basin (not a problem considering the huge size of the bathroom !) and plugs conveniently situated on both sides of the bed (possibly both 3 and 2 prong). Some reviewers complained about the window shutter which makes the room dark during daytime. First of all, it is a feature of old houses in Seychelles, but it is mostly appreciated if you want to have an afternoon nap away from the scorching tropical sun !
Last point, it might a good idea to provide a few basic cooking amenities such as salt and pepper, cooking oil and sugar. However, when we asked for sugar, the owners immediately brought us some !" ~Michel
