"Pros: When in Slovakia and the weather permits, we visit the High Tatra Mountains. Strbske Pleso was windy and crouded, therefore we moved to Tatranska Lomnica. Recomended pension Slalom was easy to find in the centre of this lovely mountain village. It was May and the mountains were still partly covered with a snow. We stayed in 2-room apartment with a free parking. Tired after driving we appreciated to have a dinner in a restaurant in the same building. After a good sleep with the fresh air comming through the open window, listenning to the sound of small mountain creek under the balcony of our bedroom, we had next morning coffee in our living room flooded with the sunlight. Ten minutes walk across the park with blooming rododendrons and wandering elks brought us to the cable car station. We paid for expensive tickets to mountain lake Skalnate Pleso and from there to Lomnicky Stit. Weather was perfect and the views we had and pictures we made from 2,634 m were worth the cost. You can book a room there and stay under the stars over the night or come early morning and have a VIP breakfast if you don't mind to pay for it. Otherwise in the village there is a supermarket and more restaurants and cafeterias in short walking distance." ~Vladimir
