"Pros: The location was quite close to the centre of Ella (15 mins walk). The hostess was really sweet, she said she upgraded us to a nicer room as we were supposed to be downstairs. She also brought us tea upon arrival and in the morning which was a nice surprise considering we weren’t supposed get anything in the morning. The view is also very pretty from the accommodation at the top and there is a nice table and chairs outside of the room which was for us to use! Due to this shared terrace space and the tea, we actually made some really nice friends who we ended up meeting up with throughout our stay. However, we technically weren’t supposed to have this room so I worry how much better it would’ve been from our original room. Cons: Sadly the sheets and towels really did not smell very clean, and the pillows were probably some of the most uncomfortable pillows I’ve slept on. The shower is only cold and since our stay was actually very rainy, it was less than ideal. The bathroom shelving was quite dirty and the flooring in the bathroom is black so hard to tell how well it was cleaned. I really hope this was just a one off as the host is really sweet." ~Crowley

"Pros: When we booked this accommodation, we had slight concerns whether everything would be okay, due to the small number of reviews, but now we know that we had nothing to worry about, everything was more than perfect! The cottage is located in a quiet area, 15 minutes walk from the Nine Arches Bridge and 5 minutes by tuk tuk from the center. The cottage is new, spacious with a large balcony and a beautiful view. It is quiet and peaceful, because there are no other guests around, which was a very big plus for us. The owners are very nice and helpful. We were welcomed with the best fruit cocktail we have had in Sri Lanka. The owner's husband has a tuk-tuk and works as a taxi driver, which is a great convenience, because whenever we needed transport, we could count on him regardless of the time or place. The owner is very nice and talkative and serves delicious and varied breakfasts, as well as dinners upon prior request. We had a very nice time here and we highly recommend this place! Cons: Sometimes the Internet was slow, but it wasn't a problem for us" ~Koray
